 CONFLICT ATTORNEY PANEL
Northwest
Defenders Association recruits attorneys for the Conflict Attorney
Panel (CAP), organizes
training for panel attorneys and administers the assignment of
cases to CAP attorneys.
Attorneys
approved for CAP represent
defendants the public defender agencies are unable to accept as
clients. Attorneys interested in joining the panel should submit
the attached Application and review the CAP Policy. If accepted
for the Panel attorneys are expected to attend an initial
orientation and training. Panel attorneys are asked to accept two
or three appointed cases a year.
Applications are
accepted on an ongoing basis. The Oversight Committee reviews
applications quarterly-March, June, September and December-or at
other times as determined by the Committee.
